We look into Lost Ark Engravings Guide, going through the basics of how they function, how to collect them, and how to use them.
Engravings are an important aspect of fine-tuning your character’s development in Lost Ark. There are a variety of Engravings that provide various benefits and alterations to your kit, in addition to two Class Engravings that radically modify the playstyle of the class.
This Lost Ark Engravings Guide tutorial gives you an in-depth look at the game’s most popular Engravings and how to utilize them. They’re only available beyond level 50, hence they’re only suitable for endgame stuff such as Chaos Dungeons and raids.
What Are Engravings, And How To Use Them?
Engravings are extra bonuses and adjustments you can give your character when you first start completing T1 content – that is, anything past level 50 that isn’t part of the main storyline.
Engravings are separated into three categories: damage enhancements, utility buffs, and specialized Class
Engravings that radically modify the playstyle. Engravings that aren’t class-specific can be utilized by any class in the game.
Increasing the Quality of Your Engravings
Engravings are divided into three levels based on how many points you’ve earned. A total of 15 points are available for a total of three levels.
You can earn points for your Lost Ark Engravings in a variety of ways, including through accessories (earrings, necklaces, and rings) and ability stones.
In Lost Ark, you can collect, loot, and buy accessories and stones.
Finally, you can unlock character-specific Learned Lost Ark Engravings, which are referred to as “Learned Engravings” or “Imprints” depending on where you play, but are unlocked through books. These can be found almost anywhere in Arkesia, including Dungeons, Raids, and Islands. It’s not just a matter of locating one or two books to unlock the Learned Engraving slots; you’ll need several.
During Your First Steps Into Endgame, This Is How Your Engravings Will Look
Things start to become intriguing at this point. It’s a little intimidating to set up your Engravings at the start of endgame content. You won’t have a lot of Engraving points in your accessories, and you might not even have the Learned Engraving slots set to go, much alone an ability stone that gives you any Engraving points.
Let’s take a look at some of the accessories, stones, and Learned Engravings you might have. This is how the math works out:
Three points for a necklace, three points for an earring, six points for a Learned Engraving, and ten points for an average Ability stone. You’ll have 22 points to work with, which is enough for one level 3 Engraving and two lower Engravings. Before going on to more material, you might want to concentrate on maxing out your Engraving points.
For the beginning of Engravings, this is still a lot. To begin with, you won’t have access to this many points.
Instead, concentrate solely on your Class Engraving or a Combat Engraving that is particularly effective for your class (Super Charge for the Gunlancer, Desperate Salvation for the Bard, etc, etc). The Engraving can then be used TWICE. in your Engraving slots, for a total of 6 points in total.
Ability stones will be added later, as you’ll want to concentrate on obtaining the best stone for your class. You can, however, pick up and use almost any stone that comes your way at the start. You shouldn’t start caring about class-specific Engravings and builds until much later in the game.
The Most Popular Engravings in Lost Ark
At the time of writing, this is a complete list of every popular Lost Ark Engravings. We’ll keep this updated if there are any unexpected patches with the NA/EU launch, or if there are any further changes down the road. This is based on user feedback from KR and RU, as well as our personal experience with Lost Ark’s late-game content.
Focus on other Lost Ark Engravings first, even if you see Grudge and Cursed Doll a lot in early endgame build recommendations. These Engravings have a number of drawbacks that make them difficult to employ early on. They’re more suited to endgame stuff and when you’ve figured out how to avoid being hit so hard!

When it comes to classes, skills, and playstyles, Lost Ark is quite well balanced, but the Engravings might use some improvement. There are just a handful Engravings that work in specific situations aside from the ones stated. Grudge and Cursed Doll are used to accomplish the majority of T1 material. Please see the note below for more information.
Some engravings, such as Midsection Attack and Adrenaline, are absent from this list. This is due to the fact that Lost Ark is now available in three different versions: Korean, Russian, and NA/EU patches. The available material varies between the three builds, making it difficult to keep track of what’s what. The Engravings listed above are the ones that were available at launch in North America and Europe. It’s possible that more will be added, but it’s also possible that they won’t. This concludes the Lost Ark Engravings Guide. Hope you found it useful.
