It just so happens that such a katana exists in Elden Ring. and it’s one of the best katanas (perhaps one of the best weapons in the game) available.
Moonveil is a one-of-a-kind katana in Elden Ring that seems to be designed just for DEX/INT builds.
Moonveil has a physical damage rating of 73 and a magic damage rating of 87, which is more crucial. It has an E in STR scaling, so it’s not ideal for physical fighters, but spellcasters and bandits may make excellent use of it thanks to a D in DEX scaling and a C in INT scaling. Oh, and did I mention that its unique ability, Transient Moonlight, allows you to perform quick-draw slashes that fire light beams? If you’ve ever fancied yourself as Vergil from Devil May Cry, this is the sword for you.

So, where has this magnificent piece of charmed steel vanished to? Limgrave is Elden Ring Moonveil Location, which is great news. The bad news is that it’s smack on the boundary of Limgrave and Caelid, which isn’t exactly welcoming terrain for newcomers.
Moonveil may be found in the Gael Tunnel dungeon, which is located on the Limgrave-Caelid border. You may see the place on Limgrave’s map where the ground starts to turn a dark red coloring if you look to the far east. The entrance of Gael Tunnel is located east of Summonwater Village, and may be reached by simply following the main route past Stormveil Castle.
Gael Tunnel is a deep mine teeming with troops and miners with hefty, flaming weaponry. They’re tough, but not particularly durable, especially if you can get a good drop on them. Don’t worry if you’re having problems getting past them all since there’s a Site of Grace at the bottom of the entrance shaft.
You’ll come upon a set of wooden double doors as you progress deeper into the mine. Take the smaller wooden door to your left before opening those doors to uncover a Site of Grace and an exit back into the over world if you need to leave.
You’ll also discover Alexander, everyone’s favorite talking jar, if you got him out of his position before, so talk to him a few times to keep his quest line continuing.
When you’re ready, open the wooden double doors and you’ll be confronted by the Magma Wyrm, a tall drink of lava that spews molten flame and, for some reason, wields a massive sword. Why would a dragon require a sword…? In any case, fighting the Magma Wyrm is challenging, but the best strategy is to keep your distance and employ magic strikes. Multi-hit spells like Glintblade Phalanx can easily shatter the Wyrm’s stance and leave him vulnerable.

If you run out of magic and need to approach near for melee combat, attempt to stay close to the Wyrm’s hind legs, as most of his strikes are directed in front of him. Just keep an eye out for when he swings his fist into the ground.
You’ll be rewarded with 7,500 Runes, a Dragon Heart, and, most importantly, Moonveil in all its shimmering beauty if you slay the Magma Wyrm. To use Moonveil, you must have a STR of 12, a DEX of 18, and an INT of 23.
It’s a tall task, but after you’ve mastered it, don’t be surprised if your Glintstone Staff becomes obsolete. If you run out of magic and need to approach near for melee combat, attempt to stay close to the Wyrm’s hind legs, as most of his strikes are directed in front of him. Just keep an eye out for when he swings his fist into the ground.
